LAHORE: Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif admitted that unseating of Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique by the election tribunal was a political setback for the ruling party.

Speaking exclusively to SAMAA, Asif said that he won’t comment on the tribunal’s decision, but he said that PML-N might file an appeal in the Supreme Court.

“We respect the decision of the court,” he said

“God forbid, if we go to the by-election, we are sure of victory given we have won most seats in the cantonment elections.”

Khawaja Saad Rafique would emerge victorious again if by-election was called, he said. – SAMAA
