ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has condemned the firing incident that killed as many as twenty laborers in Turbat and ordered immediate investigation.
Expressing his grief and shock, he sought immediate report on the incident. He directed the provincial government and law enforcement agencies to ensure that all steps were taken for bringing the culprits to justice.
Extending condolences to the bereaved families, the Prime Minister said the government was committed to eradicating the menace of terrorism and extremism from the country.
At least 20 laborers, hailing from Sindh and Punjab, were gunned down and three others wounded in a brazen terrorist attack in Balochistan area of Turbat in early hours on Saturday.
According to Levies sources, the laborers were working on an under construction bridge in Turbat area of Gagdan, when at least 20 extremists ambushed them at 2am, killing all of them on the spot.
The Levies sources said the laborers were asleep at the time of attack at a camp located near the construction site being watched over by seven Levies personnel.
Meanwhile, Balochistan CM Dr Abdul Malik Baloch visited the site and summoned a meeting regarding the incident. SAMAA
