ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan had gone to deliver Karachi from the clutches of ‘fear’ but has returned home scared.

This is how Federal Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Pervaiz Rashid, analyzes Khan’s recent visit to the metropolis where his party is trying to hook ‘political meat’ from the age old nest of hawkish Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).

“Imran Khan’s erstwhile claims have bitten the dust one by one, let’s see which cat he will let out of his bag this time around,” the government mouthpiece told reporters here.

Disclaiming any fraud in the May 11, 2011 vote, Rashid alleged that PTI’s months-long sit-in staged in Islamabad was phony.

“Khan’s justice party has been sitting on the ‘bundle of evidence’ for the last two years. It’s time they unbundled it for everyone to see,” the minister said vowing to accept the decision of a judicial commission formed to probe the alleged election rigging.

It needs to be noted that the PTI has fielded Imran Ismail as its candidate for by NA-246 ( Azizabad constituency) by-election. The MQM has never lost this seat since 1988.

Nabeel Gabol of Muttahida Qaumi Movement won by 137,874 votes and became the member of National Assembly in general elections held on May 11, 2013.

This seat is lying vacant since Gabol resigned as member national assembly (MNA) last month.
