Sarwar refuses to assume charge as PTI president: Tareen

ISLAMABAD: Jahangir Tareen, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General, Tuesday said that former Punjab Governor Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar, who is all set to join PTI, has refused to assume charge as the party’s president.

“Imran Khan was ready to make Chaudhry Sarwar the party’s president but he (Sarwar) wants to join PTI as a party worker,” Tareen said while talking to media.

The PTI senior leader said that the former Punjab governor would be given any party’s office in accordance with the constitution.

“It is a high time to deliberate on organizing the party at grass root level,” he said.

The PTI’s National Council and Central Executive Committee would soon be reconstituted, Tareen added. -Samaa
