KARACHI: Requesting Altaf Hussain not to leave his party, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), leaderless, Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leader Senator  Rehman Malik Thursday announced a judicial probe into the extrajudicial murders of the former's party workers, Samaa reported.

“Altaf Hussain is a great political leader. I earnestly plead with him to stay put for he is needed more than ever,” Malik told reporters after holding a meeting with the Governor Sindh Dr Isharat-ul-Ebad here at Governor House.

The senator said that the PPP, which was the majority party in Sindh province, had in principle decided to form a commission comprising jurists to dig into such acts of violence at the hands of men of law, adding Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari had issued clear directives for the same.

“Extrajudicial murders are intolerable. We have to find a solution to these murders once and for all,” said he.

Malik, who is revered in political spheres for his mediatory acumen for he has broken PPP-MQM stalemates several times in the past, today seemed to be in total agreement with the MQM's reservations, .

“The PPP shares the grief of the loss and extends sympathy to family of recently murdered MQM office bearer Sohail Ahmed,” the senator said winding up his talk.
