PM issues directives to clear PSO dues

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Monday directed the relevant authorities to ensure payment of outstanding dues to Pakistan State Oil (PSO) to avoid any petroleum crisis in future.

Sharif issued directives while chairing a meeting to review demand and supply of petrol in the country. The petroleum minister was conspicuously absent in the meeting.

The meeting also reviewed petroleum reservoirs for next two months.

During the meeting, Sharif vowed the government would take action against people found responsible in creating the crisis.

He said that an impression of petrol shortage in the country should be dispelled now.

The prime minister directed the authorities to inform masses about availability of petrol through media.

He said that petrol crisis could be averted by ensuring effective coordination among the ministries. -Samaa
