KARACHI: Karachiites have proved that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is a popular political party in the metropolitan city, Awami Muslim League head Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said Friday.

Talking to media here at Nusrsery area, Rashid claimed that PTI has completely locked down Karachi on the call of its chairman Imran Khan.

He further stated that Karachi is a city of patriotic Pakistanis.

Earlier, PTI launched its protesting sit-ins in several areas of the metropolis as a part of its strategy to shutdown the city with nominal traffic on the city roads.

The PTI activists set tires on fire in front of Insaf House on Shahra-e-Faisal to block the main artery of the megacity along with several other areas and the traffic flow was blocked.

Roads have been barricaded in different areas of the city including New Karachi Power House, Native Jetty, Landhi, Qayyumabad, Teen Talwaar, Numaish Chowrangi and New Sabzi Mandi, suspending the traffic flow. -Samaa
