KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) head Altaf Hussain today called upon Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif to take over Pakistan for two years.

In a telephonic press conference from London, Hussain said that a debate is under way about the installation of military courts. “Martial law should be declared if we have to set up military courts,” he opined.

“General Raheel Sharif is a brave general… He should take command of Pakistan for two years,” he demanded. “I have seen a hundred of martial laws. Let’s see one more.”

The army alone cannot save Pakistan, he said, adding that time has come to decide whether or not we want to save this country.

“I want to save Pakistan. Martial law should be imposed to recover every looted penny of the nation,” he suggested.

The MQM chief recalled that Mohajirs were declared anti-state and Indians in the past. He said that houses of workers were raided and supporters were killed. “I chanted long live Pakistan even when it became difficult for our workers to offer funeral,” he stated. – SAMAA
