BANNU: Temporarily Dislocated Persons (TDPs) living in camps in Bannu went on rampage on Thursday following mismanagement during food distribution among the people who have fled North Waziristan’s anti-Taliban military operation.

According to Samaa correspondent, hundreds of people blocked main Bannu-Peshawar road and pelted police with stones in protest, prompting the law-enforcers to fire warning shots in the air to disperse them.

The anger at food distribution problem spilled over today following mismanagement in the camps where thousands of TDPs have been living since June this year.

The infuriated mob torched many of the camps and clashed with police, tuning the area into battlefield for several hours.

Some stick-wielding protestors also attacked a police camp in Bannu’s Sports Complex. – Samaa
