Death toll in toxic liquor tragedy rises to 29

KARACHI: The death toll, due to consumption of toxic liquor in Karachi the other day, has mounted to 29, Samaa reports.

The death toll climbed as four more people expired today.

According to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) sources, several people were brought here after their condition deteriorated after consuming liquor to celebrate Eid.

Dr Seemi Jamali, a spokesperson of the JPMC, told media that the people were brought from Landhi, Korangi, Chanesar Goth and Sachal Goth. All were between 15-23 years of age.

She said that 26 others are still under treatment of which five are in critical condition. -SAMAA
