PTI surprised over HRCP report

ISLAMABAD: Central Information Secretary Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Dr Shireen Mazari Wednesday expressed surprise over Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) statement that sit-ins had diverted from human rights concerns, Samaa reported.

“The HRCP is clearly ignorant of the content of the PTI Azadi dharna (sit-in) which is premised upon the rights of the oppressed of Pakistan”, she said in a statement issued here.

Mazari added that 'Azadi dharna' had awakened the people of Pakistan to take a stand for their rights.

“The sit-in has allotted special days for women, minorities, physically challenged and youth. On these days the relevant people speak from the Azadi Bus and their issues are also highlighted”, the PTI leader said.

Mazari further said that it would have been more fruitful for the HRCP if it had made themselves aware of the facts on the ground first.

“It is unfortunate that they chose to issue ignorant and politicized statement on the Azadi dharna which was totally devoid of the ground realities”, Mazari said.
