ISLAMABAD: Chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader, Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri on Monday celebrated Eid with thousands of their supporters camped in Islamabad, Samaa reported.
Qadri led the Eid prayer at Islamabad’s D-Chowk. The congregation was attended by Imran Khan and other political leaders.
Muslims in Pakistan are celebrating Islam’s biggest festival with prayers, animal sacrifices, and savory friends/family feasts.
After offering Eid prayers, Muslims slaughtered sacrificial animals in the name of Allah following the Sunnah of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).
Large Eid congregations were held at mosques, Eidgahs, and open places in all cities, towns, and villages across the country.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif offered Eid prayer at Raiwand.
Former president Asif Ali Zardari and ex-PM Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani offered prayer in Behria Town Lahore. The main Eid congregation was held at historical Badshahi Mosque of Lahore were Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar and other offered Eid prayers at Badshahi Mosque.
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari offered Eid prayers in Karachi.
Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif is in North Waziristan Agency (NWA) to celebrate Eid with the troops participating in Operation Zarb-e-Azb, a major military offensive against the Taliban militants. – Samaa
