ISLAMABAD: The opposition jirga tasked with reconciliation to the protestors have chalked out new proposals to meet demands of PTI and PAT leaders, Samaa reported Friday.
Members of the jirga, comprising Rehman Malik, Siraj-ul-Haq, Liaqat Baloch, Hasil Bizinjo, Kalsoom Parveen and Ghazi Gulab Jamal held a meeting in Islamabad today.
The opposition members have repeatedly urged the government to show flexibility in order to end the political crisis.
Jirga’s new proposal
Sources said that the political jirga dispatched a new proposal to the government which contains following points.
1) The government should issue a notification to constitute a Joint Investigation Committee (JIT) on Model Town incident.
2) FIR of the incident be transferred to another province.
3) The Electoral Reforms Council be formulated, as demanded by Dr. Tahirul Qadri.
4) Cases against Dr. Qadri be withdrawn.
On Thursday, members of opposition jirga hoped for an honourable solution to the political crisis would be found. – Samaa
