Court orders FIR registration against Sharifs, ministers

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad District and Sessions court on Monday ordered registration of FIR against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his brother Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, federal cabinet ministers and IGs of Punjab and Islamabad, Samaa reported.

The court issued orders while hearing the case regarding killing of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers in clash with Islamabad riot police during march towards parliament house.

During hearing of the case, police submitted a report regarding deaths of PAT workers in the Islamabad's Red Zone. The judge accepted PAT’s request for registration of FIR against PM and other high-ups.

The court ordered police to book PM Nawaz Sharif, CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Railways Minister Saad Rafique, IG Islamabad Khalid Khattak, IG Punjab, IG Railways in the FIR. The FIR includes sections of murder and terrorism. – Samaa
