Suicide bomber targets Rangers in Karachi; four injured

Staff ReportKARACHI: A suicide bomber attacked Rangers personnel in Karachi, leaving four persons injured in the blast, SAMAA reported Friday.Reports said the bomber blew himself up near a Rangers’ patrolling vehicle in Qayyumabad, a suburb of Korangi Town in Karachi where three polio workers were gunned down last month.According to SSP Korangi, vehicle of Rangers’ Sector Commander, Brigadier Basit, was targeted in the attack which left four people including Rangers officers injured. The law-enforcing personnel cordoned off the area as bomb disposal squad was called to search the blast site. Friday’s attack came a day after a remote-controlled blast left 13 police commandos dead outside a police training center in Razzaqabad area. The blast was claimed by banned TTP.Meanwhile, Rangers arrested five workers of banned outfit during a search operation conducted in Sohrab Goth area. – SAMAA
