Staff ReportKARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari and PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday decided to hand over party’s command to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The decision was made at the meeting of PPP core committee, met in Karachi today. The core committee reiterated its commitment to hold general elections on time and resolve the issue of creation of Saraiki province. President Zardari finally put the heavy responsibility of party’s command on Bilawal Bhutto’s shoulders. Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira and top PPP leaders attended the meeting. The core committee said it would extend full support to Bilawal Bhutto in running the party. The committee said that conspiracies to delay elections would be foiled and no misadventure would be allowed. A four-member committee was formed to hold talks with political forces and Punjab government. The committee comprises of Farooq Naek, Raza Rabbani, Khursheed Shah and Nazar Muhammad Gondal. The prime minister has been tasked with holding consultations with political parties for the installation of a caretaker set-up. It also decided to step up consultations with the PML-N regarding early establishment of Saraiki province. SAMAA
