Staff Report
ISLAMABAD: Farooq H Naek, the Federal Minister of Law, met the Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Saturday, Samaa reports.
According to sources, the meeting was held in the backdrop of on-going NRO implementation case.
The federal law minister briefed the prime minister on various legal aspects of the case.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan earlier this month directed the prime minister to appear before the court on August 27 to explain his position personally over the court’s directive to write a letter to the Swiss authorities on reopening graft cases against President Asif Ali Zardari.
On Friday, the leadership of the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) called senior party leaders and held consultation over Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf’s appearance in the Supreme Court. Sources said the meeting, which was held for consultations, was jointly chaired by President Asif Ali Zardari and PM Raja Pervez Ashraf. – SAMAA
