Staff ReportISLAMABAD: The ruling coalition would decide about Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf’s appearance before the Supreme Court in a meeting today, SAMAA reports.President Asif Ali Zardari has summoned a meeting of coalition partners at the Presidency today to hold consultations to decide if PM Raja should appear before the SC on August 27.The SC has issued a contempt notice to the prime minister for not implementing its order of writing a letter to the Swiss authorities to reopen graft cases against President Zardari. He has been asked to appear in person before a five-judge bench headed by Justice Asif Khosa.According to sources, PPP allies MQM and PML-Q were in favour of appearing before the bench to avoid confrontation with the judiciary while the inner PPP circles are against this strategy.Ministry of Law and Justice has made all the preparation in this regard. All the leaders of coalition parties would accompany PM Raja if he decides to appear tomorrow. -SAMAA
