Staff ReportISLAMABAD: The Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) production companies Tuesday raised the gas price by Rs.14 per kilogram. The raised price will come into effect from February 3.But, the LPG Distribution Association announced to strongly resist the decision.After the hike, a domestic cylinder will go up by Rs.165 and the commercial cylinder by Rs.660.According to LPG Distributors’ Association Chairman Irfan Khokhar, the gas burgeoned to 1072 dollars per tonne after it surged by $142 per metric tonne in international market, adding after this international phenomenon, the LPG Producers hiked up the gas to Rs.13,965/tonne in Pakistan. He said world tariffs will not be allowed to be implemented in Pakistan. Meantime, LPG Distributers have called a meeting on February 15 to hammer out a strategy against the LPG price raise.
