Staff ReportRAHIM YAR KHAN: A bridegroom was shot dead by an armed assailant during his valima ceremony late on Saturday, SAMAA reports.Farooq Ahmed, a kiln labourer, was present in his valima ceremony when an attendee, Sadiq, fired shots at him, killing the groom on the spot. The sad incident took place in Kotli Mai area, within the remit of Sadar Khanpur area.People present on the occasion immediately captured the assailant and handed him over to police who said old enmity was the motive behind the groom’s murder.Deadbody of the ill-fated Farooq was shifted to tehsil headquarters hospital for medico-legal formalities.
