Water in Tarbela Dam close to dead level: IRSA

LAHORE: A grave water scarcity has been anticipated to hit country as the water level in Tarbela Dam has dropped to as low as 7 inches above the dead level, SAMAA reported Saturday.
Only 10,000 cusec usable water is available in the dam at this point of time which is being anticipated to end sometime today.
According to Indus River System Authority (IRSA), the water inflow in Tarbela Dam is 20,007 cusecs but the outflow of water is as high as 30,000 cusecs.
IRSA officials said that water level has reached to 1378.7 feet in the dam.
Also, the officials painted unsatisfactory picture of availability of useable water in Mangla Dam. SAMAA
