Court issues 5 days of physical remand to Hamid Saeed Kazmi

ISLAMABAD: Former minister for religious affairs Hamid Saeed Kazmi has been sent on a 5 day physical remand by a court here on Wednesday.
Kazmi was arrested yesterday.
He was accused in the Haj corruption scandal.
FIA ARRETS EX-MINISTER OF RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS After cancellation of bail plea by the court, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested ex- federal minister of religious affairs Hamid Saeed Kazmi here on Tuesday.The Special Judge Central, Sohail Nasir, started hearing of the case today. Kazmi’s counsel, Khuram latif Khosa, said in his argument that his client Hamid Saeed Kazmi’s name is not included in the FIR and just for being a minister he cannot be blamed in the scam.The court expressed displeasure over FIA for not presenting record. The Assistant Director FIA informed the court that due to the absence of proofs his department took arrest warrant of Kazmi from the Magistrate.After completion of arguments today, the Special Judge Central cancelled bail of Kazmi and FIA arrested him from the court.Kazmi was sacked for allegedly being involved in Haj corruption scam of billions of rupees. Azam Swati, an ex- fellow federal minister, alleged Kazmi of making money in last Haj operation and cheating thousands of Haj pilgrims. SAMAA
