ISLAMABAD: Another colossal corruption scam has been unearthed on Friday as some documents have revealed that the administration of Duty Free Shops Private Limited (DFSPL), sold a Rs. 900 million’s plot, in Islamabad’s Sector G-8, at throw away price of Rs. 180 million only.

According to the documents, received by SAMAA, in the subject plot of DFSPL, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was also a share holder of 27 percent and Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) had 22 percent shares.

The administration of the DFSPL, sold that costly plot on a very cheap price of Rs. 180 million to Millennium Financial Services Private Limited (MFSPL), without taking an approval from the board of directors.

The documents reveal further that a contract was also signed between the Director of DFSPL, Farooq Rafiq Sheikh and the Director of MFSPL, Ahsan Imtiaz Bhatti.

During a meeting of DFSPL board of directors, this matter of passing over rules and regulations was pointed out. Later on matter reached to NAB and it started a probe on the sale of an expensive plot for a nominal price.

Since the start of the probe, NAB sent two notices but till date the authorities of DFSPL did not bother to provide the required documents. SAMAA
