KARACHI: The losses of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) have risen to Rs five billion due to lack of interest shown by the Managing Director of the company, reported SAMAA Wednesday.
KWSB Managing Director Sajjad Abbasi was attended the office only 17 days of the month, and his negligence has wrecked the administrative functions of the board, bringing its line losses to 62 percent. Bill collection stands at only 25 percent.
Despite the losses, MD water board increased the fuel quota of the senior officers by 200 litres.
Provincial Local Bodies Minister Agha Siraj Durrani called a high-level meeting after seeing the news on SAMAA TV.
Durrani said that he would use his rights to make the budget for water board. He has also ordered filing an FIR against officers who sold off scrap worth millions of rupees. SAMAA
