Power cut, heat wave to persist

Staff Report

KARACHI: Heat wave in the country continues to prevail while the duration of load shedding is increased in different cities, SAMAA reported Thursday.

Meanwhile, the private power plant of Tapal, which provides electricity to KESC has been closed down due to shortage of fuel.

Several areas in Karachi are not being provided with the electricity because of which citizens are facing a lot of difficulties.

Electricity supply in Gulshan-e Iqbal, Buffer Zone, Orangi Town, Maleer, Korangi, Liaquatabad, Marripur and New Karachi was discontinued in the middle of the night and has not been resumed as yet.

Sources in KESC said that electricity supply is cut in most areas because of the tripping of feeders or cable faults. SAMAA
