Karachi's PIB Colony residents break out in protest over torture, kidnapping

KARACHI: Residents of a slum in central Karachi have taken to the streets over the kidnapping and torture of a man.
A man identified as Jamshed was allegedly kidnapped and tortured by an individual named Ahmed Ali, claim Jamshed's family. They told SAMAA that the police refused to register a case.
The protest spilled on to the streets of PIB Colony, which is located near Karachi Central Jail and Teen Hatti Bridge. Traffic came to a halt and the Jamshed Town police brought out the force to quell the violence. Young men burnt tires on the road and the residents shouted slogans against the police for failing to protect them.
