ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Petroleum Ltd should interact with Balochistan's chieftains in their surveys for oil and gas, the governor has instructed the Oil and Gas Development Company Ltd. However, because of precarious security conditions, the search for oil and gas reserves is almost non-existent in the province. Work in Kohlu worth $17 million and in Barkhan worth $45 million has come to a halt. No foreigners are willing to work in the area.
The governor said that they were willing to provide any and all security arrangements and assurances to the residents and employees of such companies. Meanwhile, a coordination cell has been set up to help the work get restarted.
