PMN-N protest Mariam Nawaz's medical college admission pamphlet

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has lodged a strong protest in the National Assembly over distribution of an article against party leader Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Mariam Nawaz on Friday.

PML-N parliamentarians also demanded that Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani to look into the matter.

Speaking in the house, the prime minister said that no paper or document could be distributed on floor of the house without permission of the Speaker.

“According to rules and practice, no paper or document can be distributed on floor of the house without Speaker’s permission,” the Prime Minister said on floor of National Assembly.

“If anybody wants to raise any issue, it is prescribed in rules,” he added, saying, he had just received this paper.

MNAs Shahnaz Sheikh and Hanif Abbasi had raised the matter of distribution of a pamphlet in the Parliament premises regarding illegal migration of Mariam Nawaz to King Edward Medical College.

“Members can raise issues on adjournment motions or calling attention notices, but nobody can raise issues by distributing papers like this,” the Prime Minister said.
