RAHIM YAR KHAN: Addressing a joint press coference, U.C. Nazim Tarinda Swai and U.C. Nazim Rajanpur Kalan and Chairman Public Accounts Committee RYK, Makhdoom Sikander said here Wednesday that the District Assembly of Rahim Yar Khan, formed in August 2005, was required to meet for at least 150 days but it met for 20 days only to date, stated two union councils' nazims of this assembly.
They demanded that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) should take
action against District Nazim RYK who showed least interest in
the functioning of district assembly which was his prime obligation
as a public representative.
They demanded reversion to former local bodies system–after
abolishing current system, saying it represenatived the people at grassroots level effectively.
