MULTAN: Punjab Governor Salman Taseer said on
Friday that coalition government of PPP and PML-N will remain
intact in Punjab.
Expressing his views in a meeting with a delegation of
Peoples Lawyers Forum (PLF) at the circuit house, Governor said
that PPP could have formed its own government in NWFP but it
offered the opportunity to ANP that strengthened political
tolerance and national solidarity.
He said, “We removed former President Musharraf with the
help of PML-N and other parties and got President Asif Ali
Zardari elected in a constitutional manner.”
It will serve as an historical precedent during the future
political era.
He said consent resolution adopted during the in-camera
session of the parliament on terrorism is a great success of PPP.
Punjab Governor said that there will be no compromise on
peace and sovereignity of the country and our war will
continue till the elimination of terrorism.
He said that people of Punjab are brave and they will fight
the menace with courage. War against terrorism is actually the
war of survival of Pakistan and it will continue till the
elimination of terrorism, Governor said.
