LAHORE: Over 2000 police officers and
officials will perform security duty in three-day
congregation of Jamaat-e-Islami at Minar-i-Pakistan and seminar
of ISO at Jamiatul Muntazar to check any untoward incident
there
SSP Operation Chaudhry Shafiq Ahmad said this during his
visit of Minar-i-Pakistan here on Friday. SP Security Muhammad
Ali and SP City Rana Ahmad Hassan were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP said that vigilant officials
equipped with modern gadgets should be deputed on the roofs of
big buildings around the ground.
He also directed to SP City to stay the force deputed for
Ijtima security in 'Shahi Qilla' so the police personnel will
perform their duties according to shift wise.
He further directed the officer to provide metal detectors
to the officials deputed at all the exit points of the Ijtima
and parking to check the activity of any suspect person.
The drivers will have to stay with their vehicles in the
parking lot otherwise the parking facility would not be provided
to them. He said the same rule will be applicable on the vehicle
to be parked outside Jamiatul Muntazar.
Ch Shafiq said that maximum 4000 police officials in
plain clothes in both congregations at Minar-i-Pakistan and
Model Town to avoid the citizens from pick pockets and other
criminals.
He also directed Chief Traffic Officers to ensure smooth
flow of traffic on all roads adjacent to venues of both the
on-going Ijtimas.
