Balochistan Finance Minister Zahoor Ahmed Buledi will present Balochistan Budget 2020-21 today with a total outlay expected to Rs410 billion.
Following the federal budget 2020-21 announcement last week, Balochistan will be the last to present its budget.
It is expected that the province will allocate Rs305 billion for non-developmental expenditure. The province will spend Rs105 billion on development.
The province’s budget deficit is expected to stand at Rs60 billion.
The province will be spending Rs55 billion on health, Rs75 billion on education and Rs50 billion on law and order. Meanwhile, 5,000 new posts are also expected to be created during the upcoming financial year.
Balochistan government spokesperson Liaquat Shahwani said the province will be receiving Rs1.5 billion less from the federal PSDP.
He added that the Balochistan Revenue Authority will also give a rebate of Rs150 billion in provincial revenue this financial year as people struggle due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
