As temperatures rise in Pakistan, lawn fever starts. But you don’t always have to follow the herd and buy lawn suits.
Hina Amir, a fashion designer, shared her styling secrets on SAMAA TV’S morning show Naya Din. “Switch to linen, the fabric won’t stick to your body in the heat,” she advised.
Linen is a soft fabric and a great option for summers. You can choose between funky, flowery, striped, monochrome and bold prints.
Cotton net is another contender for best summer-wear and it’s a much more suitable for semi-formal events. You can get your evening wear stitched using cotton net and enhance it with sequins, beads or pearl lace which you can buy from any local shop, said Amir.
“You can play with laces and turn an ordinary piece into something extraordinary,” she said.
Her advice is that instead of spending thousands on designer clothing, people can put in some effort and get their clothes stitched instead. “Designing and styling is the key,” she said.
But to do that you need to pick a good tailor, one who knows how to work with different styles, she explained. You can buy cheap cloth from the market, she added. You can find many markets which sell trendy prints with high-quality material.
Take out a day of your busy routine and design an outfit yourself. Not only will it be easy on your pocket, but will bring a smile to your face after seeing your creation.
