The first Twenty20 game of the four-match series between Pakistan and West Indies took place in Barbados on Sunday night. Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and decided to bowl first in the first Twenty20 game. Pakistan beat world champions West Indies by six wickets. Pakistan reached their target off the first ball of the 18th over with Shoaib Malik hitting an undefeated 38.




The first phase of sixth national housing and population census began on March 15, 2017; with President Mamnoon Hussain inaugurating the head count in #Karachi. Overseas Pakistanis were not included in the census process; however Pakistanis staying abroad for less than six months were included in the survey. Coordination and the Vigilance Committees had been set up at district level to monitor the process and ensure accuracy of data collection.




Two persons, including the driver of Shalimar Express, were killed while six others injured when five bogies and engine of the Karachi-bound train caught fire after colliding with an oil-tanker at a level crossing situated at Hiran Minar Road. The accident occurred at Nabipura Railway Crossing where oil tanker was stopped due to fault in the axle. At least six bogies and engine of the train caught fire. However, the passengers were evacuated.




A local anti-terrorism court issued release orders for former Petroleum Adviser Dr. Asim Hussain, hours after he was granted bail in last two cases. Last month, Sindh High Court’s Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah appointed Justice Aftab Ahmed Gorar as referee judge to decide the bail applications of Dr Asim Hussain. He was appointed after a split verdict by an SHC division bench on the bail issue.




Pacer Mohammad Irfan, who was slapped with one-year ban by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), tendered an apology to the nation for failing to report the approach made by bookies ahead of the second edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL).  It was alleged that Irfan had, on two occasions, failed to disclose to the PCB Vigilance and Security Department (without unnecessary delay) full details of the approaches and invitations received by him to engage in Corrupt Conduct.





The world’s biggest smartphone maker Samsung unveils its latest flagship model, the Galaxy S8, on Wednesday in New York as it seeks to move on from last year’s humiliating burning handset recall. The company apologised to consumers for causing concern and was forced to postpone the S8 launch.





With the Panama ruling still pending the trend picked up on Twitter with people having their take on the delay.
