UAE announces New Year holiday

UAE-DUBAI-NEW YEAR

DUBAI: United Arab Emirates Tuesday announced New Year’s holiday for government and private sector, local news outlets reported on Tuesday.

Employees of both sectors will be off on January 1, 2017 (Sunday) and resume their official duties on January 2.

According to Gulf News, the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources issued a circular to ministries and federal agencies in this regard.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, has declared Sunday, January 1, 2017, an official paid holiday for all private sector employees in the UAE for New Year.

Saqr Ghobash, MoHRE’s Minister, made the announcement following the provisions of Article 74 of Federal Law No. 08 of 1980 concerning labour relations and its amendments.
