The annual Urs celebrations of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar are set to begin with great devotion and enthusiasm, with the district administration declaring a public holiday.
The Jamshoro deputy commissioner has officially announced Monday, February 17, as a public holiday across the district.
According to the notification issued by the authorities, all government offices, educational institutions, and public sector organizations in Sehwan will remain closed to facilitate devotees and ensure smooth arrangements for the Urs.
The annual Urs of Hazrat Qalandar Lal Shahbaz is a significant spiritual event, drawing thousands of devotees from across Pakistan. The three-day celebrations feature dhamal, qawwali, and various religious rituals at the revered Sufi saint’s shrine in Sehwan Sharif.
Authorities have also ramped up security and logistical arrangements to accommodate the large influx of pilgrims. Special measures, including medical camps, traffic management, and enhanced security deployment, are being implemented to ensure a peaceful and organized event.
