Six Pakistani men were killed after a fire broke out at a villa in Al-Ain in the UAE Sunday night, reported The Khaleej Times.

The deceased have been identified as Omer Farouq, his brother Khurram, their father Farouq, relative Ali Haider and two family friends, Khayal Afzal and Eid Nawaz.

Fifty-year-old Muhammad Raheem is the lone survivor of the tragedy. He said that he escaped after smashing open the aluminum roof of a bathroom. He said that he tried to pull Omer out, but he had fallen unconscious because of the smoke.

The police said that the survivor had failed to inform them as soon as the fire broke out, causing it to spread rapidly.

Farouq’s other four children and wife live in Pakistan.
