Some fans were deeply affected by the dramatic events of Avengers: Endgame. One Chinese girl was so moved by the movie that she had to be hospitalised.
Twenty-one-year-old Xiaoli cried so much during the screening that she had breathing issues and was hyperventilating, Mirror reported.
She was hospitalised and given oxygen to stabilise her breathing.
The doctor who treated her said: “I saw that the patient had been breathing heavily. According to the description from her peers, we thought that her crying had caused ‘hyperventilation’. We immediately gave her oxygen and relaxed her emotions by appeasement, reducing her hyperventilation symptoms.”
Chris Evans, who plays Captain America, said he cried six times whilst watching the latest Marvel film.
The end to the first age of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – the Endgame – featured Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and Black Widow. The four founding members of the Avengers together tackle the destruction of the universe after Thanos had taken all the Infinity Stones in Infinity War.
