Just two days after it was confirmed that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are now officially single, Jolie officially dropped Pitt from her last name.
The couple separated more than two years ago and filed a bifurcated judgment on Friday, Entertainment Tonight confirmed.
They had requested a legal move known as bifurcation, which allows them to declare themselves as legally single before the divorce is finalised.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, it was revealed that the judge had accepted their request and granted them single status.
It was only after settling the bifurcated divorce that she dropped her married last name.
So yes, Angelina Jolie-Pitt is now officially Angelina Jolie, despite the fact that they are not officially divorced yet.
The former couple’s six children are also listed on the document, but their names will continue to be hyphenated as Jolie-Pitt.
The estranged Hollywood couple first met while making the 2005 film Mr and Mrs Smith and made their relationship official in the summer of 2005, shortly after Pitt split from actress Jennifer Aniston.
In 2014 and the couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at their private chateau in France before filing for divorce in September 2016, citing irreconcilable differences.
