Ogra proposes hike in petroleum prices

The prices of all petroleum products may go up from August 1, if the caretaker government accepts recommendations of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra).

In its summary, based on general sales tax, the Ogra has advised the government to raise Rs2.45 per litre in price of petrol, Rs2.70 in diesel, Rs3.25 in kerosene oil and Rs3.40 in light diesel.

A final notification to this effect will be issued on July 31. The new rates will be applicable from Tuesday midnight.
