July 5, 2018

Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, has said that suspension of the tax on prepaid mobile cards will continue to hold until further orders.

He gave the remarks while hearing a case about petroleum prices on Thursday.

The court had restrained Federal Board of Revenue and cellular companies from deducting 40% tax and other charges on mobile phone top-up cards until they come up with a tax deduction mechanism.

Till then, cell phone users in Pakistan will continue to enjoy tax-free mobile credit.
