The students of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology will be hosting the ZAB Media Festival between April 2 and April 6 in Karachi.
The students organise the event annually. This year it will focus on the theme ‘Discovering Pakistan’ in terms of its prowess in media incorporating the languages that have been established over years of experience in art, philosophy, music, literature, film and television.
The festival has been taking place for the last 10 years, one of the organisers told SAMAA Digital. “It’s a space where students showcase their work for free,” the student shared.
Every year, the varsity takes in film submissions from aspiring filmmakers as part of a competition. The winner gets a cash prize. It is open to all and entries can be sent on email@example.com. A post on the event’s website gives details on the accepted video format, resolution and time limit for the film. The extended deadline for submissions is today.
The schedule for the five-day festival is packed with interesting panel discussions and activities to celebrate and promote creativity among students aiming to join the media industry.
