The singer owns an $18 million three-storey building in Manhattan
A man who has previously been arrested for stalking singer Taylor Swift was arrested again for breaking into her Manhattan apartment, according to the New York police.
Roger Alvarado of Homestead, Florida, was arrested around 2:30am Thursday after he allegedly climbed a ladder to a second-floor patio and smashed a glass door to get inside Swift’s apartment. Police were notified of the break-in by one of Swift’s employee.
This is at least the third time he’s been found at Swift’s home. He recently served six months for a break-in. Alvarado was found asleep in Swift’s bed in her Franklin Street apartment, according to police. Investigators said he also used the shower.
Previously, Alvarado was arrested in February 2018 on charges of breaking the front door with a shovel. However Swift was not home on both instances. He was also plead guilty to criminal contempt and attempted burglary.
Alvarado was sentenced to six months in jail, plus five years’ probation. He was given credit for time he had already served and was told he needed to complete a mental health programme.
The singer owns an $18 million three-storey building in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighbourhood.
