In a tweet, the actor said he will be supporting his sister Priya Dutt in the elections. Priya is contesting the elections from a Mumbai seat on a Congress ticket.
“I urge everyone to come out in maximum numbers and cast their vote for our nation,” Sanjay tweeted.
The rumor about me contesting for the Loksabha elections is not true. I stand with my country and in full support for my sister @PriyaDutt INC. I urge everyone to come out in maximum numbers and cast their vote for our nation! 🇮🇳

Akhsay Kumar, Bollywood’s Khiladi, had to issue a similar clarification a week ago. “Politics is not on my agenda,” he said.
There were rumours that Akshay is likely to contest the elections on a BJP ticket.
Denial and clarification from both actors came a few weeks after Indian PM Narendra Modi urged Bollywood celebrities to motivate people to vote in the general elections.
Bollywood star Aamir Khan has already declined to promote the BJP. “No, I don’t promote any political party,” Khan said when asked if he will promote the BJP.
The elections in India will be held in seven phases from April 11 to May 19.
