Lori Loughlin, who is best known for her role as Aunt Becky on Full House, has been released on bail after submitting a $1 million surety in a college cheating scam, reported BBC.
Loughlin and fellow actor Felicity Huffman, of Desperate Housewives fame, are among 50 people charged in an alleged criminal enterprise to get their children into top universities in the US.
She was charged with paying $500,000 in bribes to get her two daughters admitted into the University of South California as fake rowing team recruits.
Huffman has been charged with paying $15,000 to participate in an exam cheating scam. She was taken into custody and released on $250,000 bail.
Athletic coaches from Yale, Stanford, USC, Wake Forest and Georgetown, among other top colleges, are also implicated, as well as parents and exam administrators.
The US Attorney’s Office and FBI alleged in the indictment that the scheme helped students gain acceptance to top schools by helping them cheat on college exams, reported People.
