Our lives will never be the same: Boney Kapoor pens emotional note

Hours after the body of legendary Bollywood actress Sridevi was cremated, her husband Boney Kapoor penned an emotional note that he shared from his Twitter account.

Sridevi’s loss seems to be an irreparable one for her legion of fans across the globe. The actress was accorded a state funeral and was cremated on February 28, 2018 in the presence of family, friends and thousands of fans.

One can only imagine the pain and discomfort that the actress’ death has caused on her immediate family, her husband Boney Kapoor and daughters Khushi and Jhanvi Kapoor.

Boney Kapoor shared an emotional note on Twitter, claiming that the family’s lives would never be the same without Sridevi.

“Losing a friend, wife and mother of your two young daughters is a loss inexplicable in words,” she said. “I am blessed to have the support and love of Arjun and Anshula, who have been such pillars of strength for myself, Khushi and Janhvi. Together, as a family we have tried to face this unbearable loss.”

Boney Kapoor emphasised in the note how important Sridevi was to the family, terming her as the ‘axis’ around which their entire family revolved.

“To the world she was their Chandni… the actor par excellence …their Sridevi… but to me she was my love, my friend, mother to our girls… my partner. To our daughters, she was everything… their life. She was the axis around which our family ran,” he wrote.

In one of the last lines from the note, Boney Kapoor urged fans to respect the family’s right to privately grieve for the death of the actress.

“As we bid goodbye to my beloved wife and Khushi & Janhvi’s mama, I have a sincere request. Please respect our need to grieve privately . If you need to talk of Sri, let it be of the special memories that connect each of you to her. She was and is an actor that is irreplaceable. Love and respect her for that,” he wrote.

“My only concern at this time is to protect my daughters and find a way to move forward without Sri. She was our life, our strength and the reason we always smiled. We love her beyond measure. Rest in peace my love. Our lives will never be the same again.”

Sridevi had died due to accidental drowning in a hotel in Dubai where she was staying for a relative’s wedding ceremony.
