Louis CK fired as lead star of film sequel after admitting sexual misconduct

NEWS DESK: Louis C.K. has been dropped from forthcoming sequel to hit animation The Secret Life of Pets, reported The Independent.

The disgraced comedian – who has admitted to six counts of sexual misconduct – voiced the lead character, a Jack Russell terrier named Max, in the film which grossed $875m worldwide.

Universal Pictures and animation studio Illumination confirmed that C.K. would no longer be involved in the making of the film which is scheduled to be released June 2019.

FX, HBO and Netflix have all cut ties with C.K. following The New York Times article in which he was accused of masturbating in front of women – accusations he later confirmed in a statement.

“These stories are true,“ he wrote. ”At the time, I said to myself that what I did was okay because I never showed a woman my d**k without asking first, which is also true. But what I learned later in life, too late, is that when you have power over another person, asking them to look at your d**k isn’t a question. It’s a predicament for them.

“The power I had over these women is that they admired me. And I wielded that power irresponsibly.”

C.K.’s film I Love You, Daddy – which was due to be released in the US next week – has officially been shelved by indie company Orchard. It starred Chloë Grace Moretz, John Malkovich, Charlie day and C.K.’s Better Things muse Pamela Adlon who has said she is “devastated” by the revelations.

Moretz reportedly backed out of press for the film a fortnight ago after becoming aware of “numerous possible accusations” while It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia actor Day said: “I was as appalled as everyone to read the allegations made in the I do not condone sexual misconduct and, in light of the allegations, will not be promoting the movie further.”
