It may take Eminem four years to release a single from a new album but the Detroit superstar certainly hasn’t lost his star power as he started trending on Twitter worldwide after his latest song Walk On Water was released worldwide and surprisingly featured Beyonce.
The song became a global discussion instantly after being released since this was the first time that Eminem had collaborated with Beyonce. Also, the subject that the Rap God maker dealt with in the song also shocked some people.
Eminem, who used to attack homosexuals, women and pop stars until a couple of years ago, launched into the song with his verses reeking of regret and self-deprecation.
The pugnacious rapper stars off by confessing to his fans how he doubts himself after delivering one of the best albums of all time, The Marshall Mathers LP and ever since has failed to meet fans’ expectations. These are a few opening verses of the song that went viral over the internet.
Why are expectations so high? Is it the bar I set?
My arms, I stretch, but I can’t reach
A far cry from it, or it’s in my grasp, but as
Soon as I grab, squeeze
I lose my grip like the flyin’ trapeze
Twitter reactions were instant and in abundance as soon as the song was released.

This new @Eminem song is so good. 1 of greatest rappers of all time dealing w self doubt, identity, acceptance & mortality.
I relate deeply. Music industry is very “what have u done 4 me lately” – u can feel valueless/replaceable QUICK if ur identity is built on ppls approval.

Mans are bitching about this Eminem song as if it’s meant to be consumed as a single. He basically told himself “snap out of it” at the end.
