NEWS DESK: While Karan Johar and Varun Dhawan have apologized over the ‘nepotism rocks’ remarks after social media backlash, Saif Ali Khan defended the comments and decided to educate us ignorant masses about the definition of nepotism.
In an interview with an international magazine, when asked about his atrocious statement, Saif attempted to rationalise his statement and went on to define ‘nepotism’. Unlike his accomplices, Saif did not apologise for the comment and instead made us feel like we were attending a lecture on ‘philosophy of discourse’.
“Now I feel had we given it more thought, we could’ve really finished this ongoing public discourse on nepotism more decisively,” he said. “Nepotism is also not to be confused with campism. What Kangana might be talking about is that people generally promote their own people.”
Thereafter, he went back to imply that this type of discrimination in Bollywood is justified. “It’s easy to confuse nepotism with genetics,” he said. “Maybe there is something in the genes too that makes many of Raj Kapoor’s descendant’s actors or Pataudi’s cricketers. I think it’s actually eugenics and genetics that’s coming into play.”
