Like successful yesteryear predictions about the best movie of the Oscar, Spotlight, I would like to predict the best movie of the 89th Oscar Award.
As far as the film nominations of the 89th Oscars are concerned, I would like to mention two of them. Let’s have a look on the first one which is “Fence”; written by August Wilson, based on his Pulitzer Prize winning play on stage.
What does this story tell the audience? Well! First off it’s a drama… The story revolves around a family of a struggling man from the black community of America.
Briefly, the story gyrates around the fact that sometimes you don’t find out how much your father loves you, until you become a father yourself.
In Fence, the most versatile and the most impressive acting icon, Denzel Washington is the only distinction among the cast. Actor, producer and director, Denzel is already an acclaimed and acknowledged for his spectacular emotional acting. Fence is his third directional piece, Denzel with his eccentric ability to impersonate the character has performed on his peak along with his direction skills.
I am quiet convinced that Fence is one of the best play adaptations in years. Director and star Denzel Washington handles a difficult task exquisitely. Very convincing in his character and a lot of sensitive acting with pros and cons; Denzel’s strength is enough to touch the audience of all ages. This is something what Oscars need to award the actor for. Touching the human sentiments very gently is the most significant task for an actor, making the audience feel the depth of the character they watch in the movie.
The second movie that I want to put forward is another drama-history, the one that might be winning for the best movie of the year, Hacksaw Ridge; a true story from WWII.
This is something that would impress and touch the audience’s heart very deeply. People have watched and loved this re-enacted story.
Director of this movie is another super icon; Mel Gibson, who has proven his directional trait in many movies like Passion of Christ and Brave Heart etc. Mel Gibson’s direction has always been so expressive and impressive like in the movie Passion of Christ, when he stunningly transformed Jim Caviezel into a living-Christ.
We could not find a single glimpse of Jim Caviezel as he was all gone behind the character of Christ completely and this was all because of Mel Gibson as he himself is a versatile actor. He impressed the audience in Brave Heart, Passion of Christ and now Hacksaw Ridge.
The story of this movie is true and is naturally close to the heart; quiet convincing and epic and this is the one extra point that led this movie ahead.
